Carpet, rugs and suite cleaning FAQs

Below you'll find some common questions we get asked on a daily basis:

Q. Can you get rid of dog or pet odours from carpet rugs and upholstered fabric sofas?

A. Yes, we can treat your carpets, rugs or upholstery with enzyme deodorizers, which consume the particles that cause the smells.

Q. What is Stain Guard and what does it do?

A. Stain Guard is made up of high quality fluorocarbons and fluropolymers which once applied to carpets, fabric or upholstery forms an invisible barrier which prevents dirt etc from penetrating the material.

Q. How long will my carpets take to dry?

A. There are a many factors to consider, the amount of soiling in the carpet, the length of pile, the weather, the temperature in the property. Part of a professional carpet cleaner’s skill is to clean the carpets as thoroughly as possible and leave the carpets as dry as possible. However with the latest equipment and drying methods we use they should be dry in 2 to 3 hours at most.

Q. Will my carpet shrink?

A. Some carpets are prone to shrinkage. We can spot this at the time of your free survey, and can take measures for prevention.

Q. I have heard that carpets get dirty quicker once they have been cleaned.

A. Using the correct cleaning system is important. Some systems and incorrect application methods may leave residues which accelerates re-soiling and defeats the whole purpose of cleaning. This is not the case with the systems and products that we of course use.

Q. Will I have to clear all the furniture out of the room?

A. No. Whilst we appreciate the removal of small objects and breakables, we have a system of working with larger pieces. This will cause less to yourself.

Q. How long will it take you to clean my carpets?

A. At the time of your free survey, we can give you an accurate time scale. Again with the latest equipment we use, we will complete the work as fast as possible in order that your home or premises will return to normal as soon as possible.

Q. Should I use wet wipes on my leather furniture?

A. NO! but you wouldn't believe how many people do. Wet wipes will dry out the leather which can result in the leather becoming brittle and cracking. To maintain your leather furniture to it's highest standard it needs to be nourished restoring the natural oils that are lost over time.
